Research:
- Fabrication for research model has begun
o Materials still needed
§ Method of Affixation for all boards – nuts and bolts? Something definitely removable as opposed to wood glue and permanent bonding
§ Lubricant (something which wood will not absorb) beeswax (wax in general) and silicone oil appear to be good candidates
§ Springs (might use the springs from pens)
o PROGRESS: Marked out various parts on wood and cut pieces from Plexiglas for see-through backing and frontal cover for mechanism visibility, need to work on the teeth on the next meeting
o Things we need to complete to aid model building
§ CAD, decision of formal dimensions, don’t know what scale to use at the moment
§ Better understand tool safety, many power tools needed to make the model, and kids do all the work
§ Have members practice with various tools, many members moving into FTC next year
§ Inform everyone of solution for autonomy, as some members are uninformed about the solution
