Main Purpose: Create run for medicine pack, solve problems with specialized unit
General:
- FINISHED: A member of our robotics club had finished the design for the RoboCamp brochure, so it was printed out and copied. We folded all these brochures at the meeting, to be passed out at coming demonstrations.
Robot:
- GOAL: work on the run to get the medicine pack, the very last mission for us to do
o put off for a while in place of other major runs
- Previously, we had made an extension-attachment for this based on the previous one we had used for Brick.
o attachment had progressively gotten bulkier and bulkier
o tried to take off as many pieces as possible
o esp. important because the extension had started drooping
- The one-way mechanism had also become a bit difficult
o much time spent finding the right height
o had to be adjusted many times
- PROBLEM: in program, kept having the problem of hitting the other medicine packs
o SOLUTION: tell the robot to only lift a little, then move forward to align the green pack parallel to the line
Research:
- PROBLEM: specialized unit in the middle was fragile and didn’t have much structure
o SOLUTION: made specialized unit with multiple nubs/clickers on each side, as opposed to just one on each side
o Now a whole section, more structure integrity and support.
o We plan on starting the research model soon, since spring break (from school) is coming up.
