Main Purpose: Fix Run 1, make transition accurate, speed up attachment changing time, take a team picture
General:
- We made a brochure for RoboCamp, our summer program for elementary school children, and prepared all of them for passing out at demonstrations
- Up to this point, we had finished the team information sheet required by the World Festival, except for the team picture, so we took a new team picture, without the two members that had left our team previously.
Robot:
- After running our Run 1 at school, we saw that one part of it had become inaccurate
o This difference was significant enough as to disturb the rest of the program
o As a result, we had to fix it and make it more accurate
- Regarding the possibility retrieving the robot after Run 1 and doing Run 5, we had decided that if we had gotten to the point in which we were confident enough in Run 5, we would make the change
- As a result, one of our members started working on the transition attachment
o After inspection by one of our coaches, we noticed that the platform flexed in the middle, causing some wheels to not touch the ground
o Some basic shear bracing was put on the side wheels
o Other parts of the transition attachment were also braced for more structural integrity
o A tricky part of the attachment was that we could not brace in the front half of the platform, as it would interfere with the stairs.
- We programmed the transition attachment again, as the transition platform now ran better, causing it to overshoot in every move, a good sign.
- The hexaflexagon robot boards were also continued, in that the construction paper was glued again, now with spray-on glue.
