Robot:
- We sped up other aspects of Run 1, after speeding up the line-following by 20 power levels (out of 100).
o There were some troubles that arose out of these changes, and so we changed it back to the original and progressively made smaller changes to speed up the program.
- Later, the drivers practiced more dry runs with the sped up runs, getting rid of Run 5
o The runs were almost always finished with 5-10 seconds left, so we decided to capture the chair and bring it back to base as well
o With that, we started recording the runs, capturing our new high score on film, with a score of 440 points
o With the newest changes and refinements to our runs, our new high score is now 465 points possible within two and a half minutes
- A suggestion was given by a coach that could possibly raise the potential score
o The suggestion was to retrieve the robot during Run 1 once it had finished its task, and take a touch penalty.
o With that time, we would be able to complete Run 5
o We would lose 25 points from Run 1, but gain 100 points from Run 5
o The question at hand is whether or not Run 5 is accurate enough
- As a result, we spent much of the meeting thinking of different ideas, to no avail
- The middle of the hexaflexagon robot boards were filled by one of our members during this meeting as well.
