Main Purpose: Finish Run 1 and think of a solution for stairs
General/Other:
-The three new members were involved fully starting with these meetings.
Robot:
-Run 2 (cardiovascular) was very quickly edited, and the attachment for it was modified
-We worked on Run 1 (strength, flexibility, and bowling).
o The main problems encountered for this run in the previous meetings were quickly overcome, so we were able to focus on the other factors of the program
o For example, we found that our method to get the bottom ring was not very efficient, so we made a better way to get that ring, changing the actual attachment
-The program for Run 1 was changed much. We decided to take a different path, and even rearranged some of the order that the missions were completed.
-In the end, the run was not finished as it was planned to be, but much progress was made.
Research:
-We tried coming up with different solutions to help seniors getting up/down stairs.
-The main solution we thought of is below.
SOLUTION 3:
o A type of wheel used to drive up stairs.
o These wheels can be used on any personal transportation that seniors could have (i.e. wheelchairs)
o The wheel would contain springs instead of spokes to allow the wheel to be stretched into different shapes.
o The normally circular wheel can stretch into a triangular shape, forming treads.
o With treads, wheelchairs and mobility scooters would have the ability to climb up stairs, thus, allowing senior citizens to go upstairs.
