Robot:
-Since the runs that we finished a while ago have not been tested for a while, we ran them and adjusted them accordingly. (Run 4 and Run 5)
Research:
-At the beginning, we went to the media lab to research about different types of walkers and electric scooters.
-We found that walkers were complicated to use when going up stairs.
o Seniors typically have to carry walkers upstairs; if they have a walking problem already, it’s harder to walk and carry something simultaneously
-We decided to create a new system that would allow senior citizens to be able to use the function of a walker when they go upstairs.
SOLUTION 2:
o The walker would have treads at the bottom so that senior citizens would be able to push the walkers up the stairs.
o The support bars would be designed to help senior citizens use the bars to stabilize them when they try to bend down to sit on chairs
o The walker also has a seat incorporated inside to allow senior citizens to rest when they walk for long distances.
o The seat will have a scissor lift integrated into the seat to help senior citizens get off the seat more easily.
· Later on, we will contact walker companies for their input on our solution.
